Online or studio?
Online is convenient when you want to take the source yourself. A studio takes and usually submits its own photograph, which may be easier for babies, urgent cases or difficult lighting. Studio prices vary; confirm the current local price directly.
Next step: take or choose a photo and start the free pre-check. Before payment, you can see whether the photo can move on for processing.
Frequently asked questions
What does OmaPassikuva's one-time price include?
The one-time price of €4.90 includes a free technical pre-check, up to five photo candidates under one payment, human review when needed, one selected 500 × 653 pixel JPG, secure download and upload guidance for lupakuvienvastaanotto.fi. You upload the photo to that service yourself.
Do I have to pay before the photo pre-check?
No. The free technical pre-check comes first, and before payment you can see whether the photo can proceed to processing. The pre-check is not authority approval or a guarantee of acceptance; the authority makes the final decision.
What happens if human review remains unresolved?
If your case remains unresolved 72 calendar hours after entering the review queue, you can request a full refund or keep waiting while retaining your original queue entry time. Choosing a refund closes the review and starts return of the full price. When the payment appears depends on the payment provider and your bank.
Who is an online service suitable for, and when might a studio be easier?
An online service suits you if you want to take the source photo yourself and save a visit. A studio takes the photo and usually submits its own photograph to the Police. A studio may be easier for babies, urgent cases or difficult lighting. Check the studio's current price directly with the studio.
Does the price include the Police passport or identity card application fee?
No. OmaPassikuva's price covers only photo preparation and its included services, not the Police passport or identity card application fee. Check current application fees on the Police website.
