Glasses and headwear

Passport photo with glasses or headwear

Ordinary glasses may be worn if the eyes remain fully visible and there is no disturbing glare. Headwear requires a justified religious or medical reason and must not hide the recognisable outline of the face.

Glasses

  • Clean the lenses and angle the light to remove glare.
  • Frames must not obscure the eyes.
  • Tinted lenses normally require a medical reason.

Headwear

  • Show the complete face from chin to forehead and along the sides.
  • Avoid shadows cast on the face.
  • Be prepared to explain the religious or medical reason to the authority.
